The Street Food Bug Has Bitten

Food is a drug. You’re addicted to it, it fills your brain with the sweet sweet release of serotonin telling you that everything is good and right in the world. The adventure sweeps you up, you follow it. The smells act like a beacon of light leading you through bustling night stalls and frequented haunts. The seer of the meats, the sizzle of the sauce, and the crunch of the bones. Acid, Heat, Sugar, Fat all dancing around your taste buds as beads of sweat run down your back. A quick swig of your ice cold beer and then you’re off onto your next bite. Can’t stop, won’t stop.

And….it’s just a Tuesday. Strong start to the week! What is it though, about street food, that is just SO exciting. Is it the choice? Are the smells filling your stomach with all the cravings? Is the sound of a wok hitting an open flame music to your ears? Maybe it’s the experience of it all. You’re out with your friends, it’s lunch, the sun is shining and you’re ready to literally spice up your life. I mean I’m sure it’s just a tad more #Authentic when you’re in the thick of it on the streets of Bangkok or at a hawker market in Singapore. But London’s bustling al fresco dining scene is exploding. From our fabulous research so far we’ve counted 53 markets and then some! Dannng! Londoners are on the right track to get that fix we are all itching to scratch--the food bug has bitten and we’re desperate for more.

So what’s the next step? We’ve got the craving, but we still want more. Maybe it’s time to #UnlockSomethingDifferent.

Here at Déjà Vu our goal is to bring it to you straight and have some fun along the way. We believe in getting more from your everyday experiences and honestly just eating what you love, when you love, with the people you love. So join the Tribe and tell us, Do you Déjà Vu?
