6 of london's latest street food destinations

We all love a bit of street food and whether it’s for a quick weekday lunch bite or a weekend activity to do with friends, there’s something about eating alfresco that never gets old.

It’s a good thing the capital has so much to offer and we’ve recently heard about some new openings that we think all you London foodies should know about (but obviously come armed with napkins and comfy trousers because, you know, treat yo’self).

1. Hawker Union - Wood Green

So StreetFeast opened this one a couple of months ago but we thought it still deserved to be shared with the London food world. StreetFeast know exactly what they’re doing when it comes to serving up delicious morsels to hungry Londoners and dishing out nothing but good vibes. Their first North London location is no different and has been graced by the likes of Petare, Black Bear Burger, Root & Coal and White Men Can’t Jerk. Oh, and a rotating dessert bar. Yes you heard that right - Rotating. Dessert. Bar.

Open every Friday-Sunday, 5PM-Late.  Free entry. Hawker Union, London, N22 6TZ. Entrance off Silsoe Road.

2. KERB Hornsey Town Hall

KERB’s first ever weekend market is coming to London on August 25th and it’s set to be jam packed with tasty vendors and new weekend fun. Set to run every Saturday from the depths of Crouch End, if you know KERB, you know this is bound to be a treat for the tastebuds.

3. KERB St. Katherine’s Dock

KERB’s latest lunch market offering has been open for a little while now and it’s not only set against some pretty picturesque marina views but also has a stellar line-up of vendors. This is KERB’s sixth market and it’s their biggest yet with up to 18 delicious vendors, as well as a bar and music on the first Friday of the month. Feast on everything from moreish Melter Meatballs to Italian ciabatta pockets from The Sugo Truck. Yum!

4. The Spread Riverside

This market only opened up last week so it’s super fresh to say the least. With markets already open in Primrose Hill and being in charge of Broadway Vegan Market, these guys have newly opened a location right by the river. Check it out down at Riverside Walkway by Gabriel’s Wharf every Friday and Saturday from midday to 8pm, as well as Sunday from midday to 5pm. This market isn’t just hot food, they’re also offering up fresh produce for you to take home so whether you’re craving punnets of fresh berries or boxes of steaming hot food, you’ll probably find something to whet your appetite.

The Riverside Walkway by Gabriel's Wharf, SE1 9LT.

5. Urban Food Fest - Baker Street

Urban Food Fest is the perfect Saturday place to go to if you’re looking for free entry, outdoor seating, quirky jamjar cocktails and great food but they’re set to open a Baker Street location next month. They’re promising delicious food stalls so be sure to keep up with the action on Twitter for the exact opening details.

6. Pergola London, Kensington Olympia

This recent announcement got us all excited so we thought we'd share the joy with the rest of you hungry Londoners. Okay, this isn't technically a street food market opening so we'll call this one an honorary member. However, Pergola is expanding over to a permanent site in Olympia after doing so well as a great summer venue in Paddington. They're also taking the likes of CLAW, Patty&Bun and Passo with them. So whether you want to enjoy the capital's skyline alongside a hamburger, a crab roll or fresh Italian pizza then this venue has got you covered. It's set to open September 27th so keep your eyes peeled on the Incipio Group Twitter for more.
