The Merch You Can Buy To Support The London Restaurant Scene

The London restaurant scene hasn’t had an easy time of it over the past few weeks and with the onslaught of information, it seems never-ending.

Fortunately, some of our favourite restaurants (all still on the app for you to save to your Favourites folder) have lent their hand to fashion design. Yes, really. So scroll through, have a look at their t shirts, caps, pins and cookbooks and if you see something you like, buy it. In such uncertain times, cash injections are welcome in whatever form is most comfortable to you and so buying a couple of t shirts for you and your other half will certainly put a smile on a lot of restaurant owner’s faces.

BAO
If you want to save some BAO goodness for the near future, you can order one of their vouchers online. If you’re looking for something a little more chic and wearable, get one of their tote bags with their signature logo on the front. You can also pick up some wall art whilst you’re at it too.

St John Bread and Wine
The infamous St John is home to takeaway baked goods at their Spitalfields branch but you can also order their merch online. Pick from a pig emblazoned sweatshirt, t shirt or, my personal favourite as it’s so adorable, their Piglet Romper.

Black Axe Mangal
The cult followed Black Axe Mangal has many people wondering just how they do it. Well get ready to dish up Squid Ink Flatbreads and Smoked Cod’s Roe in the comfort of your own home with the help of their cookbook.

Noble Rot
After a statement tote bag that’ll probably have people doing a double take? Heck, with this one they may even break the sacred London rule of not talking to strangers and actually ask you where you got it. Have your share of Sex, Drugs and Pinot Noir here.

Lyle’s
Uber cool, just like the restaurant itself, Lyle’s also sells signature tote bags. They’re big in size, versatile and chic – what more could you want from a tote?

Monty’s Deli
Ever just wanted a simple white tee that showcases your love of pickles? Well we found it. If you’re looking to recreate the magic at home, you can also buy some of their salt beef, pastrami and bagels here.

Voodoo Ray’s
If you happen to be dreaming of shading away from the summer sun already, or just really love caps, the Slice Cap from Voodoo Ray’s will be right up your street. Trendy and understated in your love of the pepperoni slice.

Quality Chop House
Ever wondered just how the genius minds of Quality Chop House do it? Well most of their secrets are revealed in this cookbook so if you’re looking to pass the time with a little butchery and decadent meal planning, buy it here. If you’re also local and looking for some goods, their Food Shop and Deli remains open 7 days a week.

Max’s Sandwich Shop
Yes, this is a Sandwich book but have you ever read a recipe book about sandwiches before? The answer is probably no so you’re still yet to be enlightened on the prowess of Max and his infamous sandwich creations. Find out how he does it all here.

Attendant
If you’ve ever had a cup of coffee at Attendant and wondered how to recreate it at home, you can do so. Literally. They sell their coffee beans online and if you’re in the market for a reusable cup, you may as well add it to your basket too.

Temple of Seitan
Not only do these guys serve up great vegan fried chicken, they also design some pretty cool merch. Let the world know about your love of all things vegan with one of these snazzy enamel pins.

Yard Sale Pizza
Not only do they knock up delicious pizzas but Yard Sale sell some damn good t shirts too. Whether you’re looking for one to mark their limited edition pizza with Jessie Ware or just a general one proclaiming how much you love pizza, you can find them all here.

Dishoom
Ever had a craving for the Black Daal or Chicken Ruby at home? Well now’s your chance to perfect it at home. After a brief home delivery stint, Dishoom have since closed all restaurants and delivery services but their book is still ready and waiting for you to dive into.

Other ways to help:

Lina Stores
After making the decision to close their restaurants, delis and ceasing delivery for the time being, the lovely folk at Lina Stores have turned their hand to fundraising. Many hospitality staff have been made redundant during this crisis and Lina Stores wants to fix that by raising money to provide food kits filled with their delicious fresh pasta, sauces and cheese. Also, anyone who donates more than £20 will get 20% off in their restaurants during their reopening period so it really is a win-win situation. Find more details here.

The Cheese Bar
The people behind the much-loved Cheese Bar are dusting off their van and getting back to their street food roots to feed the people of London. Keep updated via their Instagram here. So, if you fancy Self Isolation Survival Kits in the form of cheese and small producer wine, look out to see if they’re coming to your neck of the woods soon.

London Restaurant Cooperative
The team behind Le Bab have reopened their doors as a non-profit social kitchen for chefs and waiters who have lost their jobs due to the recent Coronavirus outbreak. Each day they make one meat option and one veggie option available for delivery but all are just £7. For an additional £4, you can get the meal delivered to an NHS worker or to the St Martin’s In The Fields charity for the homeless.

Vouchers and delivery
The most obvious way to give your most loved restaurants a helping hand in all of this is to order a voucher to be used later. A lot of restaurants have also switched over to delivery services too so if a craving hits you, be sure to check Deliveroo, their website or socials to see how you can resolve it.
